Why should we build Communities?
WHY SHOULD WE BUILD COMMUNITIES?
It is important for us to acknowledge that fighting the established system alone will not produce the results we are looking for.
While this does not mean that we should disengage from the existing institutional, political or business processes entirely, rather, we need to be involved in the constructive phase of a movement and create alternatives.
While this village is one beginning, a wise person once said, “we pave the road by walking it”. There is far to go, when it comes to demonstrating how a community should be in our current world, and we are committed to the journey. Only by uplifting ourselves into situations that are safer, more purposeful and more empowering, can we move forward to do even more for the world in entirety.
Unlike conventional development, which relies on regional economic growth, villages create local economies not dependent on the region. Average families reduce lifestyle cost by 15% just from driving less. Existence of cooperatives and wholesale buying options, as well as local food and energy suppliers, also cuts down the cost of living. The community is culturally enriched, cutting down on entertainment costs and correlated emotional diseases.
